929 MC Install in 1988 323 GTX
Installation of a 929 Master Cylinder will dramatically improve the braking efficiency of the 323 GTX. The installation is ALMOST a bolt in conversion. The one thing that is frequently not mentioned is on the 88-89 North American GTX you also need to change the brake vacuum booster. I don't know if the booster change is required on other versions of the GTX.
The new booster is a bolt in but you will need to bend the front brake line up 90 degrees and will also need to bend the metal vacuum line on the firewall to get a better alignment with the vacuum inlet on the new booster.
Required Parts:
1991 Mazda 929 Master Cylinder. Part number HG30-43-400D
1995 Mazda Protege vacuum brake booster
A piece of vacuum hose with a 90 degree bend

This shows the difference in the "U" connectors. Be sure your "New" booster has the longer connector

The following pictures should help in assuring that you have the correct components.
The only other thing you will need to do is bend the front brake line (the one towards the front of the car, I think each line runs a front and rear brake) and bend it up 90 degrees. You can do it by hand if you're careful. You will also need to bend out the metal vacuum line connected to the firewall a little to get a decent angle between it and the booster inlet.
Other than outlined above it is a bolt in.
Here are some pictures:
This shows the clearance problem with the vacuum line and the location of the brake line that needs to be bent up.
